Next Door’s Winter 2020 Newsletter
It’s that time of the year again – a chance to take a closer look at the exciting news and developments happening at Next Door!
In our Winter 2020 Newsletter, we offer a recap of results from Next Door’s 50th Anniversary Fundraising and Community Relations Campaign in 2019. We cover it all from the dollars raised to support our early childhood programming and building renovations to the tens of thousands of books donated for our Books for Kids program during the milestone year.
The edition also includes a new layer of support from the Milwaukee Bucks, the launch of new statewide early childhood teacher apprenticeship program for our staff, and our celebration of National Reading Day with a special event for our students from The E.W. Scripps Company, WTMJ-TV and Scholastic.
In addition, we profile the Next Step Clinic now operating at Next Door. The clinic – which held its opening celebration in January – is part of an extensive coalition of community partners working to provide mental health and developmental services to underserved Milwaukee families. Clinic leaders say it has quickly become an extremely welcome resource for the families being served.
