Next Door's 50th Anniversary
In 1969, a group of devoted parishioners at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Milwaukee expanded the church’s community outreach to better serve the needs in their neighborhood. That decision led to the opening of Next Door – a youth and young adult outreach program located in a church parsonage right next door to Our Savior’s. In the early 1990s, Next Door moved to the central city to focus on high quality early childhood education and family support services. Today, Next Door serves nearly 1,700 children from birth to five years old with three locations, a home visitation program and 11 partnership sites across the city. Click here for more history. To commemorate our first 50 years of service to Milwaukee, Next Door is launching a 50th Anniversary Fundraising and Community Relations Campaign centered around three main areas of activity.
