Building the future of our community is an important mission that will never go extinct.

Read for Children is a month-long event that builds literacy skills and provides reading materials to young children in the Milwaukee community.

Event Activities

  • Student Book Fairs
  • Community book drives
  • Month-long expanded Volunteer Read with Me
  • Classroom read-ins at our two center-based sites, 11 partnership sites, and home-based programs
  • At-home family reading challenge

Event Goals

  • Collect 5,000 books
  • Read to children for 50,000 minutes
  • Raise $70,000 for Books for Kids
