Early Head Start (6 weeks to 3)

Next Door is here to help in your child’s first few years of life. Our staff surrounds infants and toddlers with a supportive, loving environment and begins basic educational instruction. We start enrolling children at six weeks through three years of age. Families must meet income and other eligibility requirements.

Center-based Programming

If you’re looking for full-day, year-round care, we provide early childhood education services for children six weeks to three years old at our 29th Street and Capitol Drive locations. We offer:

  • Programming Monday-Friday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm
  • Class sizes of 8 students per at least 2 teachers
  • A comprehensive approach to school readiness
  • Instruction promoting language and literacy development
  • A play-based curriculum
  • Services to children with special needs
  • Nutritious meals and snacks daily
  • Free diapers, wipes, infant food & formula
  • Health screenings and behavioral health support
  • A Family Advocate Specialist assigned to your family to assist with needed support and community resources
  • State-of-the-art facilities
  • Indoor and outdoor gym spaces
  • Children’s library

Home-based Programming

Next Door offers year-round home-based programming to help develop a stable home environment, build parenting skills and promote literacy. We offer:

  • Programming at your home based on your schedule
  • 90-minute weekly sessions conducted by a certified Parent Educator
  • Programming in English, Spanish, Hmong, Burmese and Karen
  • Medical and dental support to ensure your child is up to date
  • 2 monthly socializations for children to engage with their peers and parents to learn more about child development and parenting skills
  • Additional special events throughout the year
