Next Door Young Professionals Fundraiser
A new generation of support for Next Door is on the rise and working to raise community awareness about Next Door’s mission. On Saturday, June 3rd, Next Door’s Young Professionals Group held its first fundraiser at the Harp Irish Pub in downtown Milwaukee. The group invited friends and colleagues to learn about Next Door’s crucial work in early childhood education in Milwaukee. Guests also enjoyed raffles and a beautiful riverfront setting to socialize and network. We thank everyone for coming out and spending part of your weekend with Next Door. If you are interested in getting involved in the Young Professionals Group, contact Next Door President, Dr. Tracey Sparrow, at email@example.com.
Walk for Children 2017
Next Door celebrated 28 years of the Walk for Children on Saturday, May 20th. The walk is our largest event of the year, benefiting the critical, birth-to-five early learning programs we offer to Central City families. This time around, we had more than 1,000 friends and families come on board to support the walk, and thanks to you, we raised $145,000! We also want to thank Green Bay Packers, Davante Adams, for being our Walk Leader. He was so generous to not only lead our walk but also read to our children afterwards! We are so lucky to have all of this community support to help get our children get ready for school and ready for life!

Educare 10th Anniversary
Friends of Next Door celebrated the 10th anniversary of the agency’s Educare Milwaukee program on November 30, 2016 at the Milwaukee Art Museum. The event raised approximately $209,000 to support this unique early childhood experience for families living in Milwaukee’s Central City. Educare Milwaukee is part of a national early learning network, with investors like the Buffett Family and many local community supporters. Next Door’s anniversary event honored the Buffett’s and others who made Educare Milwaukee possible.

Books for Kids 25th Anniversary
Friends of Next Door gathered to honor Mary Kellner and the Harley-Davidson Motor Company for their support of our Books for Kids program for 25 years. They have helped Next Door improve childhood literacy by collecting and distributing two million books for Milwaukee children. The generosity of our event attendees raised over $210,000, which allowed Next Door to build a new Giving Library at our Capitol Drive location.
