Home-based Prenatal Services & Early Childhood Education

Programming update: Due to COVID-19, Next Door is operating all home-based programs virtually. A Next Door Parent Educator will work with your family with weekly online sessions and can provide resources to help during this challenging time. Click HERE to learn more.  

For families who can’t come to us, we can come to them through two home visitation programs.

Prenatal Services

We offer a Prenatal Services program for expecting mothers with a variety of personalized support services throughout pregnancy, delivery and transition to parenthood.

  • A 90-minute weekly visit from a Next Door Parent Educator
  • Assistance with setting family goals and building strong relationships with children
  • Resources that will help you improve daily life skills
  • Guidance to position you as your child’s first teacher
  • Connections to healthcare services
  • Parenting classes
  • Education on safe sleeping for your child
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Coaching from infant massage specialists
  • Opportunities to connect and socialize with other expecting moms at Next Door
  • Nutritious meals and snacks
  • Diapers & wipes available on a case-by-case basis

Early Childhood Education

We offer early childhood education programming for families in multiple languages, along with community resources to help families succeed.

  • A 90-minute weekly visit from a Next Door Parent Educator
  • Programming in English, Spanish, Hmong, Burmese and Karen
  • Guidance to help engage your children in learning and help them achieve developmental benchmarks
  • Medical and dental support to ensure your child is up to date on screenings
  • Support for students with special needs
  • Two monthly socializations at Next Door for families to engage with other children and parents
  • Field trips
  • Access to Next Door’s Books for Kids program for free books
  • Community resources to support families like healthcare, housing and employment
