Books for Kids has been building the at-home libraries of individuals throughout the Milwaukee community for over 35 years!

Donate Books
- Support Books for Kids by donating gently-used or new books. High-demand books include board/picture books (ages 0–5), multicultural/multilingual, and social-emotional themes.
- Host a Book Drive Next Door Milwaukee – Book Drive Kit
- Visit our Amazon Wish List to purchase books directly.
Get Books
Access free books for yourself, your family, or your classroom at:
- Community Library: Open Thursdays, 2:00–5:45 pm at 2545 N. 29th St..
- Mobile Library: Distributes free books across the community
- Little Free Libraries: Located at 29th St. and Capitol Dr. Campuses, as well as other neighborhood Child Care Partnership Sites
- Packed Orders: Contact us to pack an order of books for easy pickup for your next event or program
Volunteer
- Become a Reader Friend by joining our Read with Me program, which fosters the love of reading in children (ages 0–5) by reading one-on-one during their library time.
- Distribute free books when volunteering with our Mobile Library all across the community.
- Book Hospital Helpers lovingly patch up and refresh new and gently-used books, getting them ready to embark on their next reading adventure.

Financial donations help fund program supplies, library upkeep, and literacy specialists, ensuring effective and engaging programming.
