Read for Children is a month-long literacy event benefitting Next Door’s Books for Kids program, which builds literacy skills and provides reading materials to young children in Milwaukee.
During the event, we hope to raise $70,000 in support of our Books for Kids program, read to children for a total of 50,000 minutes, and collect 5,000 books to build children’s home libraries.
We need your help to accomplish these critical goals!
By supporting Next Door’s Read for Children, you will help:
- Build children’s home libraries, increasing access to books as powerful learning tools
- Supply students with free books through our Book Fair
- Provide free books to young children throughout Milwaukee, year-round
