Marquette University President’s Challenge Grant selects project at Next Door

Next Door is part of a community partnership team, which recently won the President’s Challenge grant program with Marquette University. President Mike Lovell awarded the team the $250,000 two-year grant during his annual Presidential Address on January 23, 2019.

The President’s Challenge grant program targets interdisciplinary, collaborative projects that seek to change the trajectory of lives in our community by addressing areas where neighborhood inequities exist, including health, education, safety, housing, transportation and economic prosperity.

The winning project this year is called the “Next Step Clinic: A Partnership Targeting Mental and Developmental Health for Milwaukee’s Underserved Children and Families.”

The clinic will be housed at Next Door’s 29th Street campus and open later this year.
