WTMJ4 highlights Next Door support for employees during COVID-19
After the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) authorized organizations and companies to offer a special window of opportunity for employees to sign up for or make changes to workplace health plans without waiting until an open enrollment period later in the year.
WTMJ4 covered this national story and featured Next Door as one of the local organizations offering a special open enrollment period to support its teachers and staff with health insurance needs during the pandemic. The station interviewed Next Door teacher, Lois Hearn, who was able to enroll in health insurance for her family.
