Next Door receives Healthy Citizenship Award
Next Door is the 2017 recipient of the Harley-Davidson Healthy Citizenship Award. The honor came during a program on January 16th, commemorating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This award recognizes an organization or individual who is improving the health and wellness of the Milwaukee community.
Next Door’s President, Dr. Tracey Sparrow, accepted the award at the event hosted by the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee. During the presentation, the YMCA featured a video profiling Next Door’s award-winning work with children and families in the Central City. The video includes a look inside the classrooms at Next Door, plus interviews with Dr. Sparrow and a Next Door parent who teaches at our 29th Street location.
“We’re honored to receive this award from the YMCA because it really validates the work that our staff is doing each and every day to improve the health and wellness of the children and families we serve as well as the City of Milwaukee,” Dr. Tracey Sparrow said in the video.
