FOX6 features Greendale support for Books for Kids

It’s been a tradition at the Greendale School District since 2001. Each year, students, from elementary to high school, collect books for Next Door’s Books for Kids program.

This year, their generosity caught the attention of FOX6. The station recently visited Greendale Middle School to learn more about students’ motivation for giving year after year.

On the morning of January 26th, Next Door welcomed a crew from the district with its latest book drive donation – more than 2,000 new and gently-used books. This brings the district’s total amount of donated books since 2001 to more than 50,000.

On top of the annual book drives, the Greendale School District sends student volunteers to read with Next Door children in the Books for Kids library. Students also help out in the book room, cleaning and sorting donated books.  Thanks so much, Greendale Schools, for the continued support over the years!
