Next Door’s 2017 Walk for Children on FOX6

On May 20th, Next Door welcomed hundreds of friends for the 28th Annual Walk for Children. The walk is Next Door’s largest community event of the year and raises awareness and funding for the agency’s early childhood education programs for Central City families.

This time around, Next Door welcomed Davante Adams with the Green Bay Packers as our walk leader. He led the crowd of Next Door families and supporters on a on-mile route, which kicked off at Next Door’s 29th Street headquarters in Metcalfe Park. Mr. Adams later created even more special moments as he read to some children at the Books for Kids station.

Next Door was honored to welcome more special guests, including Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, Aldermen Russell Stamper, Alderman Cavalier Johnson, Milwaukee County Supervisor Marcelia Nicholson, Milwaukee County Supervisor Sequanna Taylor and State Representative David Crowley. A dedicated team of staff, volunteers and corporate sponsors also played a huge role in making the walk such a special and heartwarming day for Next Door!
