Milwaukee Bucks Lopez brothers visit Next Door

Our students enjoyed a special visit on February 5, 2020 with Milwaukee Bucks players and brothers, Brook and Robin Lopez.

They came to Next Door as part of their “Blocks for Books” charitable program. Brook and Robin are donating $100 for every block they make during a game this season to support Next Door’s Books for Kids program, which distributes free books to Next Door students and children in the community to help them build their home libraries. At the time of their visit, the Lopez brothers had raised more than $15,000 for Books for Kids!

During their visit, the players read Disney stories to the children and took pictures with them by our banner tracking the Blocks for Books program. The Lopez brothers also delivered a surprise – donating tickets to Disney on Ice for Next Door families. We thank Brook and Robin for their generosity, enthusiasm and commitment to Next Door! A shout-out as well to Bango, the Bucks Hoop Troop and team staff for visiting. Our children loved having you all!
