WTMJ4, Scholastic partner to support Next Door
Next Door celebrated National Reading Day in January with a special book fair experience for our students!
The E.W. Scripps Company and its Milwaukee affiliate, WTMJ-TV, partnered with Scholastic to present book fairs at our 29th Street campus and Capitol Drive center. The children were able to walk through the book fair and select a new book to take home. There was more fun with Clifford the Big Red Dog and one-on-one story time in the library with WTMJ volunteer readers.
Between both events, more than 1,000 free books were distributed to help our little readers build their home libraries. We thank Scripps, WTMJ and Scholastic for their time, service and generosity, and for creating such an engaging and valuable literacy opportunity for Next Door students.
