Gracia and Jim Willis were part of a devoted group of parishioners and clergy at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church who helped create Next Door in 1969. They recently came back to visit the organization for our 50th Anniversary Celebration in October.

Camilla Levin started volunteering for Next Door’s adult education program in the 1980’s. She offers one-on-one tutoring for our adult learners.
Marijah, Lamarrius and Lamarion Franklin all started their education at Next Door. Today, they’re doing well in school and involved in multiple, life-enriching experiences outside the classroom.
Imani London is one of our Next Door parents who has shown an outstanding level of parent involvement since enrolling her two daughters here in 2018.

Ula Russell is one of Next Door’s longest-serving teachers today. She started in 1999 at Next Door’s 29th Street campus and later transitioned to the Capitol Drive site.
