Make a Child Smile Day at Summerfest supports Next Door

In honor of Next Door’s 50th Anniversary, Northwestern Mutual selected Next Door as the beneficiary of its Make a Child Smile Day at Summerfest in 2019. The program collected more than 4,000 children’s books for Next Door.

Milwaukee Ballet: A 50th Anniversary Partnership Profile

As part of our 50th Anniversary Campaign, we are partnering with 50 community organizations, schools and businesses in 2019 to help support our work. One of the partners is the Milwaukee Ballet, which sent dancers to Next Door this summer for an educational program with our students.

Helwig Carbon donation gives Next Door a new home

Helwig Carbon Products Inc. played a key role in Next Door’s expansion of its early childhood education programs in the central city. The late John Koenitzer, pictured left, was president of the company in the 1980’s when he executed a plan donating Helwig Carbon’s former factory building on N. 29th Street to Next Door.

2019 Walk for Children

Next Door hosted its 2019 Walk for Children on May 18 and welcomed more than 500 guests and volunteers for the special day.
